  As part of the celebration of 'International Year of Millets-2023', the Embassy has been organising a focused one-week millet campaign from 22-28 January 2023. On the last day of the focused campaign, millet dishes were served to the Yoga practitioner of Classical Yoga School on 28.01.2023 at the Embassy premises. About 60 yoga practitioner enjoyed the millet cuisine. Mr. Vinay Kumar, Cd'A briefed the audience about the background for the celebration of 2023 as the "International Year of Millets" and also spoke about the benefits of the uses of millets. A small exhibition on various millet items including ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook millet items, was also organised. A video on millets was played during the event. Leaflets containing information on the benefits of the uses of various millets products were also distributed to the attendees. - January 28, 2023

On the sixth day of the focused campaign, Mission organized a hybrid session on 27.01.2023 on "Discussion on Millets", where speakers talked about the benefits of millets, how to increase the consumption of millets and its importance for the environment. About 40 people attended the session and witnessed the exhibition on various packaged ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat millet products. The session was followed by tasting of delicious millet cuisines - January 27, 2023

On the first day of the focused campaign, a millet recipe cooking competition was organized at the Embassy premises on 22 January 2023. 22 participants with their 30 delicious millet dishes, participated in the contest and winners were awarded during the event.   The Embassy hosted a reception to celebrate the 74th Republic Day of India on 26 January 2023. More than 200 invitees, including the members of diplomatic corps, Azerbaijani Government Officials / MPs, and prominent members from Indian Diaspora, attended the event. Mr. Fakhraddin Gurbanov, Ambassador-at-Large / Acting Head of the Asia Department of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was the Chief guest. The guests also enjoyed the Indian cultural programme and Indian delicacies served during the event. - January 26, 2023

On the fifty day of the focused campaign, millet dishes were served at the National Day Morning event in the Embassy premises as well as the National Day Reception in the evening on 26.01.2023. About 250 persons enjoyed the millet cuisine.   The Embassy of India in Baku, in association with Texprocil and Founder Club, organized an India-Azerbaijan Business Meet on Textiles sector in hybrid mode on 19 January 2023 with the participation of the representatives of Azerbaijani and Indian textile companies in order to explore the potential for bilateral business cooperation in textile sector.   The Embassy of India, Baku celebrated the Vishwa Hindi Diwas on January 10, 2023 at a local Hotel in Baku. The Mission used the opportunity to promote a number of millet dishes and products, as part of the celebration of the 'International Year of Millets-2023', declared by the UN. A small exhibition on various millet items including ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook millet items, was organised at the venue. The visitors were served millets dishes including Sorghum & Bell pepper salad, Falafel, Little millet Mexican rice, Bajre ki roti, Little millet rice pudding.   Embassy of India, Baku celebrated the Vishwa Hindi Diwas on January 10, 2023 to promote Hindi language. It also marks the anniversary of the language spoken for the first time in the UNGA in 1949. Charge d' Affaires, Shri Vinay Kumar read out the message of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and addressed the audience. The event was attended by learners and teachers of the Hindi language, representatives of Azerbaijani universities, local lovers of Indian history and culture, members of the Indian diaspora and Indian students in Azerbaijan, prominent Azerbaijani figures of culture and journalists. - January 10, 2023

  Embassy of India, Baku commemorated the "Veer Baal Diwas" to honour the martyrdom of Baba Fateh Singh and Baba Zorawar Singh, the 'Sahibzade' of 10th Guru Gobind Singh Ji in the Embassy premises on 26th December 2022. The event was attended by over 50 people. An exhibition on “Veer Baal Diwas” was being showcased to pay tribute to the bravery and martyrdom of the two Sahibzade, Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji. - December 25, 2022
