Screening of Chak De! India under Bharat Filmotsav – Baku Evenings Series

Distinguished guests,
Ladies and gentlemen,
Good evening and a very warm welcome to all of you.

It is a great pleasure to see such enthusiastic participation at today’s screening of Chak De! India, organized as part of our Bharat Filmotsav under the cultural series Baku Evenings.

Cinema has always been one of India’s most powerful cultural voice. It transcends boundaries of language, geography, and culture by speaking directly to universal human values and emotions. Through compelling stories, memorable characters, music, and shared experiences, Indian cinema builds bridges of understanding and friendship among people across the world.

Today's film, Chak De! India, is one of the most inspiring sports dramas in Indian cinema. More than a film about hockey, it is a story of determination, teamwork, resilience, and national pride. It follows a group of young women from diverse backgrounds who overcome challenges and stereotypes to achieve success through unity and perseverance.

Its message remains timeless—that diversity is our strength and great achievements come through working together. These values resonate not only in sports but also in building friendships and cooperation between nations.

The Embassy of India remains committed to promoting cultural exchanges through cinema, literature, music, yoga, art, education, and people-to-people interactions. Such initiatives play an important role in deepening mutual understanding and reinforcing the strong friendship between our two countries.
