Advisory to Indian Nationals: 03.07.2020

COVID-19 RELATED ADVISORY, DATED 03 JULY, 2020

Embassy of India, Baku (Azerbaijan) has been receiving queries from Indian nationals in Azerbaijan and from India regarding Corona-virus infections in Azerbaijan. In this regard, the Embassy is maintaining contact with local authorities in Azerbaijan and is also in touch with Indian nationals residing in Azerbaijan.

Indian nationals residing in Azerbaijan may kindly note the following:

  • The special quarantine regime in Azerbaijan has been further extended till 01 August 2020, with strict quarantine regime from 06:00 AM on July 05 to 06:00 AM on 20 July in Baku, Sumgait, Jalilabad, Absheron, Lankaran, Sheki and Ganja cities. During this period :
  • The Baku Metro will suspend its activity from 00:00 AM July 04 to 06:00 AM July 20, 2020.
  • The entire public transport will not operate on weekends on the following dates in cities and districts in which the special quarantine regime has been toughened.
  • From 00:00 AM July 04 to 06:00 AM July 06, 2020
  • From 00:00 AM July 11 to 06:00 AM July 13, 2020
  • From 00:00 AM July 18 to 06:00 AM July 20, 2020
  • It is forbidden to gather in public places for more than 05 people throughout the country, including the streets and boulevards.
  • The work and services in the following spheres are not allowed till 06:00 AM July 20, 2020 in above mentioned districts where strict quarantine regime is in force.
  • Activity of big shopping centers, except for grocery stores and pharmacies.
  • Field customer service in catering facilities.
  • Activity of museums and exhibition halls.
  • Activity of hair dressers, beauty salons and rendering of cosmetic services (including rendering services in these places, in the client’s house or other places).
  • Activities of educational institutions (except for online exams, contests and interviews).
  • Conducting outdoor sports competitions and games.
  • The system of obtaining permission for leaving home, including for people at the age of 65 years, through SMS service will be in operation (by sending SMS to 8103).

Advisory for Indian nationals seeking urgent travel to India on compelling grounds

Embassy of India in Baku has opened registration under “Vande Bharat Mission- 04” for the stranded Indian nationals in Azerbaijan, who seek to travel back to India.

Whosoever have not registered with Embassy of India, Baku for repatriation, may kindly send a duly filled in Registration Form  (Download here)  under 'Vande Bharat Mission' latest by 10 July 2020 (1700 hours) to the following email:     cons.baku@mea.gov.in

Embassy will not be able to entertain any request for repatriation under 'Vande Bharat Mission' after the deadline,  July 10, 2020.
