Applications for Passport and consular services can be made at the Consular Section of the Embassy, which is open from 09:30 hours to 12:30 hours on Monday-Friday except Holidays (see List of Holidays). Passports, after completion of the service requested, can be collected from 15:30 and 17:00 hours on the date indicated. Fees for passport services are accepted at the Embassy in cash in AZN only [see fees Schedule ].

Your passport is a valuable document. It should always be either in your custody or in the custody of a person duly authorized by you. It must not be altered or mutilated in any way.
If you have acquired foreign citizenship, please surrender the Indian passport to the nearest Indian Mission.
In accordance with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) guidelines, Government of India has introduced Machine Readable Passports (MRP) in all passports office in India and Embassies abroad. The Embassy of India, Baku is also participating in a centralized project operated by Ministry of External Affairs (CPV division) for issuing machine readable passports with effect from August 26, 2007. Passports are now being printed in India and couriered to the Embassy. It would require around fifteen working days* after due processing of application to issue the passport by the Embassy to the applicant. The passport seeking applicants are hereby advised to check their passport's status and apply for any passport services much in advance.
New Passport on Final Expiry
The hard copy of duly filled in online application form is to be submitted along with 4 photographs and the old passport along with a photocopy of the first and last page of the passport. Photographs should be of size 4 cm X 4 Cm and signatures should be inside the box given for the purpose in form. For more information about the photograph details please go through Photo-Specf 1 , 2
Applications for new passport can be submitted within one year before the final expiry of the current passport or if the only 2 pages are left in the applicant's passport. Applicant has the option to apply for an ordinary passport booklet of 36 pages or a Jumbo passport booklet of 60 pages

Duplicate Passport in lieu of lost/damaged passport
If the passport is lost, the matter should immediately be reported to the nearest local police authorities and a proper police report regarding the loss of passport should be obtained and thereafter Embassy should be approached. If you are on a short visit to Baku and have lost or damaged your original passport you can approach the Consular Section for either a Short validity passport or an emergency certificate.

Passports for Minors (< 15 years for a passport of 5 year validity)
Original and photocopy of the Birth Certificate issued by the hospital/commune parents' passports in original and copies, hard copy of duly filled in online application form, four recent passport size photographs, marriage certificate(if the name of the spouse is not endorsed on the respective passport).

Please ensure that column No.28 on page No.6 of the application form (declaration of parents/guardian if applicant is minor) is duly filled in and signed by both the parents.
Passports for Children of Indian origin born in Azerbaijan
Children's name cannot be entered on their parent's passport any more. For a child to be given an Indian passport his/her birth must have been registered with the Consular Section of the Embassy within three months of birth. To apply for issue of a new passport to a child you must fill out Application form duly filled and signed to be submitted by either of the parents along with:
4 photographs of infants with eyes open
Photocopy of the passports of the parents.
Photocopy of the child's birth certificate issued by hospital (along with original)
