Embassy of India, Baku (Azerbaijan) has been receiving queries from Indian nationals in Azerbaijan and from India regarding Corona-virus infections in Azerbaijan. In this regard, the Embassy is maintaining contact with local authorities in Azerbaijan and is also in touch with Indian nationals residing in Azerbaijan.

Indian nationals residing in Azerbaijan may kindly note the following:

1.  The special quarantine regime in Azerbaijan has been further extended till 31 August 2020, with toughened quarantine regime has been further extended from 20 July to 05 August in Baku, Jalilabad, Ganja, Masalli, Mingechevir, Sumgait, Yevlakh cities and Absheron, Barda, Goranboy, Goygol, Khachmaz, Siyazan and Sheki regions. During this period, the following restrictions will be in the above cities and regions:

  • Individuals including those at the age of 65 years, are allowed to leave home through permission granted through SMS (alternatively E-Tabib mobile application) system;
  • The period of SMS permit for leaving place of stay by individuals has been increased from 2 hours to 3;
  • Services of Baku metro are suspended;
  • Functioning of museums and exhibitions and the sport games in the open air is suspended;
  • On-site services at public catering facilities are not allowed;
  • Shopping centers will remain closed;
  • Gathering in groups of more than 5 people in public places throughout the country, including on the streets and boulevards, is also restricted.
  • All public transport, except taxis, are also suspended on week-ends;
  • Educational institutions will remain closed.
  • However, barbershops and beauty salons, except for massage and bath service, will be allowed to operate.

Advisory for Indian nationals seeking urgent travel to India

on compelling grounds

Embassy of India in Baku has opened registration under “Vande Bharat Mission- 04” for the stranded Indian nationals in Azerbaijan, who seek to travel back to India.

Whosoever have not registered with Embassy of India, Baku for repatriation, may kindly send a duly filled in Registration Form  (Download here)  under 'Vande Bharat Mission' latest by 10 July 2020 (1700 hours) to the following email:     cons.baku@mea.gov.in
