Nominations for Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards


(PBSA) – 2019


 


          The Government of India invites nominations for the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award (PBSA) - 2019 from Persons of Indian Origin and Non-Resident Indians or organizations/institutions established and run by PIO/NRI who have made significant contribution in anyone of the following fields: 


For Achievements Abroad:


(a) Better understanding of India;


(b) Support to India’s causes and concerns in a tangible way;


(c) Building closer links between India, the overseas Indian community and their country of residence;


(d) Social and humanitarian causes in India or abroad;


(e) Welfare of the local Indian community;


(f) Philanthropic and charitable work;


(g) Eminence in one’s field or outstanding work, which has enhanced India’s prestige in the country of residence;  


(h) Eminence in skills which has enhanced India’s prestige in that country (for non professional workers);


For Achievements within India:


(a) Philanthropic investments and charitable work in India; and


(b) For contributions made towards India’s Development.


2.      The Award shall carry a bilingual Sanad under hand and the seal of the President of India in addition to a citation, a gold medallion and a miniature of the medallion in the form of a lapel pin.


4.      Self nomination has also been allowed for PBSA-2019.  Completed nomination forms and enclosures may be sent directly to the Ministry of External Affairs through e-mail pbsaward@mea.gov.in.  The original hard copy may be sent to the Embassy of India by 30th April 2018 for forwarding to the Ministry.  Gazette Notification giving details of the PBSA-2019 and nomination form may be seen in the in the downloadable attachments below.
