COVID-19 RELATED ADVISORY

Embassy of India, Baku (Azerbaijan) has received some queries from India and Indian nationals in Azerbaijan regarding Coronavirus infections in Azerbaijan. In this regard, the Embassy is maintaining contact with local authorities in Azerbaijan and is also in touch with Indian nationals residing in Azerbaijan.

With effect from 22 March 2020, all international commercial passenger traffic into India will be temporarily suspended for one week.  This is purely a temporary measure and is being reviewed regularly at Ministerial level. All Indian nationals, OCI card holders and foreign nationals are advised to refrain from making any plans to travel to India during this period.

Indian nationals in Azerbaijan may kindly note the following:

(i)  The Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan has advised all to follow self-isolation measures, to leave home only when there is a serious need, to have minimal contact with other people, and not to go to crowded areas.

 

(ii) Road travel between Baku and its two neighbouring districts Sumgait and Absheron is restricted. All travel from other regions to Baku are also suspended.

 

(iii) Citizens of foreign countries visiting Azerbaijan may be placed in quarantine for 14 days, taking into account individual medical conditions, or required to observe a 14-day individual quarantine at home. Citizens of foreign countries may also be tested for COVID-19.
