Patriotic fervour at the 77th Independence Day celebrations at Embassy of India, Baku. Ambassador Shri Sridharan Madhusudhanan unfurled the national flag, and read out Hon'ble President's message. Spirited participation by Indian community, and friends of India.
The students of the "Idrak" Lyceum attended a special Yoga session arranged by the Embassy of India, Baku on 25 April 2023. Yoga instructor Mr Elchin Guliyev taught Yoga exercises to the young school children. "Idrak" Lyceum has been celebrating this week as the International Culture Week. The school children enthusiastically participated in the Yoga session.
The newly-elected Executive Committee members of Indian Association Azerbaijan visited the Embassy of India, Baku for interaction on 18 April 2023. IAA has been involved in organizing various cultural events in Azerbaijan showcasing rich Indian culture and heritage.
Embassy of India, Baku organized an India-Azerbaijan B2B meeting in hybrid mode on 28 March 2023 to promote bilateral cooperation in tourism sector. More than 30 Azerbaijani and Indian tour and travel agencies took part in the meeting in order to increase tourism between the two countries.
Embassy of India, Baku in association with the Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council of India (PHARMEXCIL) organized an India-Azerbaijan Business Meet on 16.03.2023 at a local hotel in Baku. A 50-member Indian pharma delegation led by Ms. Lakshmi Prasanna, Director for Regulatory Affairs, PHARMEXCIL visited Azerbaijan and held B2B meetings with Azerbaijani pharma companies to explore the potential for cooperation between the two countries.
Indian Association Azerbaijan and Baku Tamil Sangam in collaboration with Embassy of India, Baku organized a cultural event on the occasion of Holi, the Festival of Colours on March 12, 2023 at Monte Karlo Saray in Baku, Azerbaijan. The event was attended by approx. 350 Indian community members and friends of India from Azerbaijan. The Nobel Peace Prize Laureate 2014 Mr. Kailash Satyarthi also graced the event with his presence and an inspiring speech.
On 11 March 2023, the Mission in association with the International Women’s Club of Baku, Indian Community Associations in Azerbaijan and Indian Hospital Baku, organized a Charity Bazaar to support the Turkish earthquake victims. More than 60 vendors participated in the event. The Embassy's stall in the event attracted a lot of visitors.
As part of the week-long celebration of International Women's Day, the Embassy of India, Baku hosted a Quiz Competition for women on March 6, 2023. The event had about 20 participants and the winners received prizes.
As part of the one-week International Women's Day celebrations, the Embassy of India, Baku organised an online webinar on 05.03.2023 on challenges in achieving professional goals, where five eminent speakers of the Indian community shared their views on getting their goals. The webinar was attended by approx. 40 participants.
As part of the one-week International Women's Day celebrations, Embassy of India, Baku in partnership with Hind Hospital and supported by Indian Association of Azerbaijan, Baku Malayalee Association, Azerbaijan Telegu Association and Baku Tamil Sangam organized a BLOOD DONATION DRIVE at Hind Hospital from 1100 hrs. to 1630 hrs. on 03 March 2023. This noble initiative was widely appreciated by the local community.
As part of a one-week event on International Women's Day, the Embassy of India, Baku held an inaugural event on 01.03.2023 at the Embassy. Prominent speakers shared their view on empowerment of women and importance of women in shaping the family and the country. About 50 people attended the event.
Embassy of India, Baku in association with Chemexcil organized a hybrid event titled “India-Azerbaijan: Exploring Trade Opportunities in Dyes, Pigment, Inorganic Chemicals and Agrochemicals” in on 24 February 2023 with participation of representatives of Azerbaijani and Indian companies in order to explore the potential for business cooperation in this sector. About 20 Azerbaijani companies gathered in JW Marriott Absheron Baku to attend the event in physical mode, while their Indian counterparts joined the event in virtual mode. Mission also used the opportunity to promote the International Year of Millets 2023 and brochures on millets were distributed among the participants.
As part of the celebration of 'International Year of Millets-2023', the Embassy has been organising a focused one-week millet campaign from 22-28 January 2023. On the last day of the focused campaign, millet dishes were served to the Yoga practitioner of Classical Yoga School on 28.01.2023 at the Embassy premises. About 60 yoga practitioner enjoyed the millet cuisine. Mr. Vinay Kumar, Cd'A briefed the audience about the background for the celebration of 2023 as the "International Year of Millets" and also spoke about the benefits of the uses of millets. A small exhibition on various millet items including ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook millet items, was also organised. A video on millets was played during the event. Leaflets containing information on the benefits of the uses of various millets products were also distributed to the attendees.
As part of the celebration of the 'International Year of Millets-2023', the Embassy has been organising a focused one-week millet campaign from 22-28 January 2023. On the sixth day of the focused campaign, Mission organized a hybrid session on 27.01.2023 on "Discussion on Millets", where speakers talked about the benefits of millets, how to increase the consumption of millets and its importance for the environment. About 40 people attended the session and witnessed the exhibition on various packaged ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat millet products. The session was followed by tasting of delicious millet cuisines
As part of the celebration of 'International Year of Millets-2023', the Embassy has planned to organise a focused one-week millet campaign from 22-28 January 2023. On the first day of the focused campaign, a millet recipe cooking competition was organized at the Embassy premises on 22 January 2023. 22 participants with their 30 delicious millet dishes, participated in the contest and winners were awarded during the event.
