The Embassy of India in Baku organized a special free screening of the popular Bollywood film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara on Friday, 24 April 2026, as the fourth movie under the Bharat Filmotsav initiative, which is being held as part of the Embassy’s popular #BakuEvenings cultural outreach series.
The screening attracted a large number of young audiences, including Azerbaijani and Indian students, reflecting the film’s strong appeal among youth. Attendees thoroughly enjoyed the movie’s refreshing story, beautiful visuals, meaningful themes of friendship, travel, and self-discovery, along with its memorable music and light-hearted moments.
Expressing happiness at the enthusiastic response, Ambassador Abhay Kumar highlighted the variety and depth of Indian cinema. He noted that Indian films continue to gain immense popularity across the world due to their unique storytelling, emotional connect, and universal appeal.The audience were also treated to specially prepared Indian snacks, which added to the warm and festive atmosphere of the evening.
The Bharat Filmotsav under the #BakuEvenings series aims to showcase the richness and diversity of Indian cinema to audiences in Azerbaijan, further strengthening cultural understanding and people-to-people ties between India and Azerbaijan.This successful screening once again demonstrated the growing interest in Indian culture and films among both the Indian diaspora and local Azerbaijani friends.
